Summer Practices for 2020-21 Celtics Players

With Illinois moving into Phase 3 in June, we will finally be able to have small group training sessions outdoors.  Starting June 8th, we will start our new playing year and offer small group practices to all returning Celtics players.  These practices are optional and are for families who are comfortable with returning to play at this time. The safety of our players and Celtics families are our number one concern.   We will adhere to all return to play guidelines recommended by the CDC, Restore Illinois plan, US Soccer, and Illinois Youth Soccer Association.  Each practice will be limited to 9 players and a coach (10 people total).  Players will have individual training areas (painted boxes) of 10 feet by 10 feet to help maintain a minimum of 6 feet social distancing at all times.  Please look for Celtics Return To Play guidelines and protocols to be sent in a separate email later today.

Since we can only have 9 players at a training session, we have set up a Signup Genius to help facilitate joining a practice.  Each training session will be broken down by birth year/teams.  There will be two options per week for your player to practice, one session in the morning and one session in the evening.  We have done this to give families flexibility and hope all players will have at least one option to practice a week. You can only sign up for your birth year and your team.  At this time, we cannot allow players to practice with other age groups or different teams.

With the start of the new playing year in June, only players that have registered for the 2020-2021 season may participate in these training sessions.  If you have not already done so, please accept your roster spot and complete your registration.  As mentioned before, each payment plan this year has a deposit amount which will allow us to apply credits for the spring season against the outstanding balance for this upcoming year.  If you have any questions or issues, please reach out to your coach to discuss.

We will also require a Communicable Disease Waiver.  This must be signed before a player can attend a training session.

As we continue to look forward to the rest of the summer, we are hopefully that Illinois will move into Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan in the month of July.  This will allow us to have larger groups and possibly scrimmages within our own club and/or local clubs.  If Illinois moves into Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois plan in the month of August, this will allow us to have our PreSeason Camps.  Again, this will all depend on the governor moving Illinois through the different phases.  Given the changing pandemic environment, these guidelines may change at any time.  Celtics is dedicated to protecting the health and safety of our players and families.  We will adhere to all CDC, state and local government guidelines.
